Gramps 6.0 and Grampshub
Gramps 6.0 has been released in March, and with it comes a host of improvements, many of which also benefit Gramps Web. Yesterday, after weeks of work & testing, a new Gramps Web version has been released that is based on Gramps 6.0. Since upgrading from Gramps 5.2 (on which Gramps Web was based so far) requires changes to the family tree database, additional steps are needed.
As of today, Grampshub is still running Gramps Web based on Gramps 5.2, as you can check in the “system information” tab in the Gramps Web settings.
The switch to Gramps 6.0 is planned for May 13, 2025, around 19:00 UTC.
The upgrade procedure is exactly the same as for the upgrade from Gramps 5.1 to Gramps 5.2, so please consult that article for the steps required. Most importantly, please download a Gramps XML backup (available on the Export page) before May 13. Note that there is no need to back up media files, as these are unaffected by the upgrade.
